X-wing official UK event

So on Saturday it was the first Official UK X-wing event which was run by the owner of the largest UK X-wing facebook page.
28 players lined up and off we went!
I brought a list, I am thinking of using at the regionals
Han, VI, C3PO, R2D2, Title
Blue x2

Ships getting destroyed!

Round 1-
Vs
Lando
Dash

To sum up this game, Lando didnt have fun, he went down and couldnt hit or evade to save his live.
Dash had a good go, but in the end, Han and a remaining B-wing took him down

Win 100-22

Chase Dash!

 Round 2
Vs
Duel Aggressors B and C

He made the mistake of going after the B-wings first, and time he took one out, he was heavily damaged, Han easily mopping up again.

Win 100-22
Here comes Han!

Round 3-
Vs
Rookie
Blue
Kyle
Roark

A very close game, both B-wings went down early, and so Han had a lot of work to do, but in the end Han was able to arc dodge enough and deal enough damage to take out all the other ships

Win 100-44

Run Han!
 Round 4
Vs
Corran
Biggs
Bandits x2

Started quite well for me, taking Biggs and a Bandit out for the cost of a Blue, but from there no mater how much firepower I put into Corran he would evade it all, some good green dice by Corran and in the end he hunted down Han for the win

Lose 42-100
First Contact
 Game 5
Vs
Whisper
Soontir
Shuttle

Funny old game, I should of lost, but I won 100-0? work that out, Han was down to 1 Hull for 4-5 turns, but Whisper and Soontir couldnt get a shot onto him, meaning Han and the B-wings were able to take them down, Han couldnt believe how lucky he was!

Win 100-0

So a final score of 4-1 not bad, and a overall finish of second place :)

Prizes for me :) A small ship, PTL alt art, Rulers and a Medal :)

Right a conquest report to come soon :)

St Neots Casual X-wing event

So we finally got a some group of people together for a x-wing event.
All prizes were given out randomly except everyone got 2 Push the Limit Alt cards :)
We also used the new FAQ

Here are the lists :)

My list (Scum)
I thought I would bring 3 ships I am yet to field on the table, main idea here is to give me a idea how they fly. The list is a bit random but thats the fun behind it :)

IG88B, PTL, Mangler, Inertial Dampeners
Cartel Spacer, Heavy Scyk, Mangler
Guri, Adv sensors, Auto-thrusters, Virago

Colin (Imperial)
Rexlar, Pred, HLC, stealth
Mauler, stealth
Academy, stealth x2

Ant (Rebels)
Outer rim smuggler, weapon engineer
Luke Skywalker
Rookie x2

Darren (Imperials)
Darth Vader, pred, shield, homing missiles
Relxar, cluster missile, shield, expert handling
Academy

Brian (Imperial)
Whisper, VI, ACD, Intelligence agent
Soontir, PTL, Hull
Turr Phennir, VI, Hull

So 3 imperials, 1 rebel and 1 scum, could be fun :)
And it was :)

Round 1-
Brian Bye

Round 1, Scum Hunting rebels

Round 1, Imperil vs Imperial
Luke 100 vs Ant 36
The scum and rebels fought a close fight, with the Scum coming out on top just, with the Cartel Spacer, taking the credit for all 4 kills, but limped away badly damaged, a very close game, in which the rebels struggled to get a lock on the Scum ships.

Colin 59 vs Darren 15
The Imperial forces faced off, with Vader wanting the other fleet destroyed for some unknown reason, but after a long fight, were only minor damage was being inflicted, Vader pulled his forces out to fight another day.

Round 2-
Ant Bye

Brain 12 vs Darren 0
Vader again goes hunting down other Imperial forces and again a long drawn out fight sees almost no ships going down, except a poor academy pilot. Vader once again cuts his loses and falls back from the fight.

Luke 100 vs Colin 20
The Scum get mixed in quick with the Imperials, doing some heavy damage to Rexlar and taking out Mauler completely. The Imperials fought back strongly destroying the Cartel Spacer, but once IG-88 had hunted his prey and taken out Rexlar the Academy's had  alot of work to do. Why they were able to inflict massive damage, it wasnt enough to stop the relentless assassin droid finishing its mission.

Round 2, Scum surrounding the Imperial forces

Round 2, Vader trying to hunt down a Phantom!

Round 3
Darren Bye

Colin 100 vs Ant 35
The Imperials hunted down a illegal smuggling shipment of the rebels, while the rebels put up a fight they were no match for Rexlar and his escort of Ties.

Brian 36 vs Luke 33
IG-88 arrived with a new mission, to hunt Whisper, but its not how it happened, the battle was long and ships were damaged including Guri and Soontir both being blown into space dust, but the Phantom and IG-88, while hunting each other were unable to have much effect, when finally the Imperial reinforcements arrived, and even IG-88 made a tactical move to fall back.

Round 3, Rexlar shutting down a illegal smuggling shipment

Round 3, IG-88 has the Phantom in its sights.

Good day other all :)
Also for some reason round 1 pictures will not go where they are meant to be! O well :)

Here are the final standings :)

1st- Brian
2nd-Luke
3rd-Colin
4th-Darren
5th-Ant

Hopefully we get to run move events soon :)

Northampton Store Championship 21/3/15

So here is a quick run down of the store championship in Northampton yesterday.
I didn't write notes down as usual, so some facts may get missed.

My list
I am looking at lists for nationals so I thought lets bring the Decimators out again

Oicunn, Predator, Rebel Captive, Isard
Patrol Leader, Gunner, Vader

Game 1-
3 Blues with FCS and Manglers
1 Redfitted A-wing

Now this game was a bad match up, but the A-wing went around the board dodging rocks but not really getting into the fight till late, the first B came at the Decimators on his own, so got ripped apart, the other two found themselves out of arc alot, but did manage to get a bead on one of the Decimators, before being taken out themselves
Win 100-48

Game 2-
Fat Han
3 Talas

So the Talas ran off while taking a couple of shots from the Decimators, but Han charged in on his own after this, and got battered by the Decimators and he limped off on 2 Hull left, at this point the Headerhunters joined back in, and starting chewing up the Decimators but were losing ships in return, Han came back around and got Vadered and the last Headhunter fell, not before it took down a Decimator though, the last Decimator only had 2 Hull left
Win 100-52

Game 3-
Duel Decimators

So it was to be a dice off, both of us flew well and no mistakes were made (no rock hits etc) and so my dice were slightly better then his, not much else to say here
Win 100-48
Range 1 shots everywhere
Game 4-
Decimator
Whisper

So up against a good friend of mine, last time we played it was a very close game, sadly this one not so much, Oicunn end up blocking Whisper leaving him with no shot, so the Patrol leader single shoot him (range 1 +vader for the finish) after that it was all about taking his Decimator out, but up against two almost untouched at this point it was only going to go one way.
Win 100-0

Game 5-
Decimator
Whisper

Slightly different version this time, and well I got smashed, I just couldnt make any damage stick and he was able to deal out crits well. Good game, but got completely outflown
Lose 0-100

So at this point I was through to the top 8 as 3rd Seed, last time at MK I made top 8 but then lost, which I was here to get the top 4 tokens, and so I needed to play well now.

Top 8
Dash
Corran

A few of my MK team mates know I hate this list, I seem to have a bad run against it, but this time it was a bit different, first exchange I was able to take all of Dash's shields down and while he flow off, Corran tried to take on both Decimators in one go, a mix of extremely bad dice and a lucky Direct hit from Vader meant he was finished very quickly.
Dash finally got back into the fight, but struggled to make any impact at this stage. The game was won when Corren fell, 1 evade in 8 dice hurts
Win 100-0

Dash coming back into the Fight

So I made it into top 4, my goal was complete, but next game anyway

Top 4
Duel Aggressors

Now a list I didnt want to play against at all, its the perfect match up for him against my ships, but he charged the ships head on, meaning the Decimators hit one hard, leaving it on 2 hull and with no pilot abilities, and then taking it down the turn after with a Vader hit, the other Aggressor turned around as did my Decimators and he went head on again, and again with the same results, the Aggressor taking enough damage to be taken out
Win 100-0

Final
Rematch against the Duel Decimators from round 3

So another dice off, and the top table being completely dominated by Decimators, this time a bit of a different outcome, his dice were a little sharper and that was all it took, he knocked one Decimator out early, and the other one was floating around trying to deal enough damage, intill he changed range 1 of hit Oicunn and as we were both PS4, we killed each other, good game though.
Lose 48-100

So a successful day finishing by getting to the final, which was further then I planned, but all that mattered was I finally got my Acrylic Focus tokens, I was only able to make 2 Store Championships this year (top 8 in mk, final in Northampton) but making the cut in both and the final in one, is a success I reckon, now to prepare for the Regional's and then the Nationals!

Top 4 prize, the one I have been trying to get, Acrylic Focus Tokens

MK Store championship 2015

So here is my run down of the events of the MK store championship.
I believe a total of 35 people played as there was a few drop outs.

After taking weeks to decide what list to bring, I still couldn't choose, so I brought along-
4x Bandits
4x Talas

yep a full blown rebel Headhunter swarm, I wasn't sure how it was going to fare against the amount of Interceptors and Phantoms that showed up, but off I go!

Game 1
vs Soontir, Dark Curse, Patrol Leader
Picking targets was easy, taking down the patrol leader very quickly and then a little while later taking down dark curse. Soontir still with 2 hull left was up against 7 headhunters, and he called the game there, we worked out Soontir was about to be blocked anyway so action less against 5-6 headhunters shooting should of been enough anyway.
Win 100-12

Dark Curse and Soontir surrounded

Game 2
vs Rexlar, Howlrunner, 3 Academy's
This game went down to time, with Ties dying as well as Headhunters, Rexlar lived only thanks to his Lone Wolf re-rolls, very close game though
Win 54-51

The mini swarm crashes head first into the Rebel swarm

Game 3
vs Whisper, Howlrunner, 3 Academy's
Great a phantom! Lets see how this goes!
Early shots see me go after the mini swarm, taking down Howlrunner and 2 Academy's, at this point I turn my remaining 7 headhunters towards whisper, now whisper had 2 options, decloak left or forward (right was blocked) decloaking left would see Whisper blocked next turn and taking 5-6 headhunter shots for two turns running. He took a decloak forward which with the movement he had chosen took him off the board.
Win 100-12

Game 4
vs Echo, 2 Sigmas
Great 3 Phantoms!
First pass saw a Sigma go down, but after that the headhunters couldnt line up the shots, Echo just picked off a headhunter at will, while the Sigma was keeping out of arcs well, and the odd shot that did come in had little effect against the phantom defence.
Lose 29-100

Game 5
vs WSF, Luke, Rookie
Early on I knocked off 3 shields off Luke (he has shield upgrade), Luke ran off to heal... which was my Goal, leaving the 8 headhunters to hunt down the rookie and the Mangler outrider, I was never able to finish off Luke, but killing the other two ships meant Luke had a lot of work to do on his own.
Win 63-38

Bandits chasing the poor outrider

Game 6
vs Real Admiral, Patrol Leader
Fun game this one, my dice were poor but in the end the weight of dice against these ships was enough, he did pick off 4 headhunters and a couple of others were damaged, but he couldn't finish them off.
Win 100-50

Top 8
vs Rexlar, Howlrunner, 3 Academy's
I repeat of round 2! But with a twist... Green dice! To sum it up all 8 headhunters shot 1 tie, and were unable to kill it! In the last turn of the game it came down to if I could kill his last two ties (1 had 1 Hull and 1 had 2 Hull), I was able to point all my headhunters at them, including at range 1, but not a single shot got through, including 3 natural evades to save one of them.
Lost 30-49

Overall a good day, and a lot of fun
Won some nice goodies, but the FFG dice bags do seem really low quality but the cloak tokens look really good.

The Final was between the players I played in round 3 and 6 and the duel Decimators winning the whole thing.
The biggest surprise for me, was that there wasn't many Scum lists around, a lot of Soontirs and Phantoms and not many turrets!
So looking at that, I am quite happy with my results, as the swarm really struggles vs ships like Phantoms and Soontirs!

Till next time :)

Misfits championship!

So our little team of 5 all got a mini event going, purpose was to practice lists ready for the store championships we were attending.
We were allowed to give advice and remind each other things, as this was to help each other out.

Very fun and causal event :)

Here is the run down with some pictures :)
As there was 5 of us, 1 person sits out every round, everyone played everyone, I also counted the wins by Rebel and Imperial forces

Round 1-
Lee (tie swarm) vs Luke (Han with 2 x-wings)
Close game, but Han wouldnt fall quick enough.
Luke wins 64-46

Rhys (Decimator/Firespray) vs Ryan (BBBBZ)
Rhys flew into Ryans rebel swarm, which meant damage soon built up on the poor Imperials
Ryan wins 100-0

Rebels 2 Imperials 0

Lee thinking.. how can I kill that Han!

Imperials flying into a rebel swarm

Round 2-
Edward(Firespray, mini swarm) vs Rhys(4 ship rebels)
Edwards ships picked off the rebels a ship at the time
Edward wins 100-30

Ryan(Rebel Tulips) vs Luke (Han with 2 x-wings)
Han skimmed the edges shooting and picking on ships, whey all the other ships jousted
Luke wins 100-21

Rebels 3 Imperials 1

The Imperials hunt down the Rebels

Han watching the Joust between the 6 Rebel ships
 Round 3-
Edward(Firespray, mini swarm) vs Ryan(Rebel Tulips)
The Imperials went on the hunt, and took out the Rebels, and poor Wedge fell last
Edward wins 100-36

Lee(Phantom, mini swarm) vs Rhys(Falcon with escort)
The phantom and the swarm charged in taking apart the Falcon and its support
Lee wins 100-36

Rebels 3 Imperials 3

Round 4-
Lee(Phantom, mini swarm) vs Ryan (Tie swarm)
In a close game, the Phantom was the deciding factor
Lee wins 72-24

Edward(Firespray, mini swarm) vs Luke (Han with 2 x-wings)
The rebels quickly find the X-wings have been taken out, and the Falcon gets chased down and destroyed
Edward win 100-30

Rebels 3 Imperials 5
The Phantom looks menacing
Round 5-
Lee(Phantom, mini swarm) vs Edward(Firespray, mini swarm)
The Firespray and support make quick work of the Phantoms support, before taking down the Phantom aswell
Edward win 100-0

Rhys (BBBBZ) vs Luke (Phantom and Decimator)
The Imperials made some big mistakes in this game, the Phantom crashed into the rebel formation, while cloaked (it couldn't uncloak)and then the rebels blasted it out the sky, before turning and taking down the Decimator, all in under 20 minutes
Rhys win 100-0

Rebels 4 Imperials 6
Ties lining up their shots onto the Firespray
So a good day, and good practice, here are the final scores!

So Imperials edged the Rebels with 6 wins over 4

And here is the finishing postions

1st-Edward
2nd-Lee
3rd Luke
4th Ryan
5th-Rhys

Doom spoon for last place given to Rhys (left)  and then Misfits trophy for first place, given to a very happy looking Ed (Right)

Till next time :)

Happy Gaming

Conquest and X-wing!

So Saturday saw 4 of us play some conquest!
I went 2-1 in the Swiss and then won in the final, i was using Ragner Blackmane as my Warlord

Game 1-

Very close game against Dark Eldar, I won on the 7th planet by warlord kill, both of us had 3 planets each at this point!
Win

Game 2-

Played against Marines and got thrashed completely, he had the perfect set up, and nothing I could do about it
Lose

Game 3-

Vs Chaos, this game was won by me killing the Warlord on Planet 5, he had to commit to planet 5, as if I won the planet I won the game anyway.
Win

Game 4(Final)

Vs the Marines I lost to in game 2, Got a warlord kill again this game (theme running?) on the 5th planet, game turned a bit one sided, I got a bit lucky due to after I used a Mulligan on a rubbish hand, the new hand gave me 3 Elysian Assault teams... which set me up very quickly
Win

Good fun and some nice prizes
Prizes :)

I also got 4 games on X-wing in, using my Imperial big 3 list (I am trying this list out for store championships) The list basically is a Patrol leader with rebel Captive, basic bounty hunter, and a shuttle with Darth Vader

Game 1
vs Wedge, Wes and Garvin
Won 100-33, my list just out lived theirs basically

Game 2
Vs Wedge, Wes, Biggs, Tala
Won 100-33 again, same as last time, as soon as Biggs fell so did Wedge, leaving Wes and a Tala vs a untouched decimator and a half life shuttle.

Game 3
Vs Twin Firespray
I won this 100-24, including taking one bounty hunter out in first round on shooting (range 1 of two of my ships) and he hit it with relentless, and after that it was a case of chasing after his other bounty hunter.

Game 4
Rematch vs the twin firesprays
This time it was a 100-0 win for me, long game, lots of chasing, and 1 Hull left on my bounty hunter, and not much on my Decimator or shuttle either! Good game though

But I am now scrapping this list for the store championships, as I do not believe it can take on lists such as Dash and Corran, hmmm back to the drawing board

Anyway a very quick written post as its getting late

Happy Gaming :)

X-wing MK January

So back to MK for some more x-wing fun!
Having never used Han or used a yt-2400 on a table top, and with store champions/regionals around the corner thought I would give them a test!
Normal stuff, might have got bits mixed up from games (I dont take notes)

So the list is basically Han who is a hard nut to bring down and using swarm tactics to make the yt-2400 shot at ps9 to! Also 98 points just in case there is a couple of phantoms flying around!

Han solo
-Swarm tactics
-c3po
-R2D2
-Falcon title

Wild Space Fringer
-Heavy Laser Cannon
-Outrider

So my Falcon and a outrider basically! and off we went!

Game 1
Against-
Vessery, VI, HLC
Chiraneau, Expose, Isard, Experimental interface

So this list looks solid and was always going to be hard, but after he dropped my outrider, it was always going to be his game, I got lucky with a crit on his decimator meaning he couldnt use pilot abilities etc, but after his decimator went down, I just couldnt use Han to out move Vessery well enough, needed engine upgrade!
Result- Lose 57-100

Game 2
Against-
Chewbacca, vi, C3p0, lando
Leebo, outrider, HLC, recon spec,

So this started off close, but my mistake here was getting my ships to far away from each other, both of our Falcons took down the outriders, and left a duel, but my Falcon only have 2 hull left vs his 8 hull was always going to be hard! But he finally got my Falcon at range 1, his falcon only having 2 Hull left! Got out flown this game well and truly
Result-Lose 50-100

Game 3
Against-
2 Rookies
2 Blues, 1 with FCS
1 Bandit

So to sum this game up, outrider stays out of arc all game and snipes, while the Falcon does the same and only gets a few damage, this guy kept crashing and was unlucky on a lot of his dice
Result- Win 100-0

Game 4
Against-
Ociunn, expose
Kendrick, determination, gunner, isard

Interesting build to go up against, expose with no experimental interface just doesnt work in my opinion, but anyway, proved to be a close game with his Ociunn going down first, and then my outrider limped away to try to live (It had 1 hull left) and Han went on to deal with Kendrick, just.. only had 2 Hull left at the end of the game.
Result Win 100-0

Game 5
Against-
Leebo, outrider, hlc, determination, recon spec
Biggs, r4d6, hull upgrade
Cracken, swarm tactics

This game has to be my favourite today! Losing the outrider in the first 2-3 turns but somehow crashing into biggs to keep shooting Cracken, and then staying out of range of Leebo till I finished Biggs.. then it came down to the face that Leebo couldnt do enough damage to actually hurt the Falcon, and a few turns I got my Falcon into range 1, meant I was able to turn this game around, very fun and enjoyable game.
Result- Win 100-42

Overall a good day, and as always a well run event by the TO, came away with a Dagger promo card and some Acrylic seismic bomb tokens, finishing 6th I think

Anyway heres a couple of pictures! Forgot to take many!

Game 3, Bandit already been destroyed, and some large ship arc dodging

Game 4, My ships hunting themselves some Imperial Decimators
