1750!

Sorry about the blue, I copied it straight from 40k forums as I put it there first!

1750 Necron, Against All comers V2

So here is the next list, as the first one failed horribly

So what do people think? Mass firepower with some heavier stuff in there! Next game vs Grey Knights but the list has to take on all comers!


Necron Warriors Vs Space Marines

Better then a space marine? I don't know but maybe!

They have a solid baseline except they are I2 and 4+ save, so already worth 13 points instead of 16?

They gun is better..
Yes it has the same strength ap and stuff as a bolt gun but it has gauss with is awesome against armour, with the glancing rule!
And now I believe they are worth their points...
BUT!! You can have squads of 20? awesome if you want a mob!

But what they have which Marines don't is the reanimation! I know its only on a 5+ but I bet Marines wish they had it, 1 in every 3 warriors standing back up? Awesome

I believe that warriors are better then the average space marine, even though a marine will win in combat, a Necron is better overall for its points cost!!

So more warriors for me!

Necron Practice Game 2

Well so up against chaos this, he had a mix of nurgle and khorne and all mechanized! well it was a nice little win, (I lost 3 Pratorions and all 10 scarabs) and he lost almost everything!

Hmm right I did change list and tried out Imotekh (and he was useless like I thought)

Pros-
3 Annihilation barges killed most things including armour from side of rear, this things are awesome at 90 points
Cryteks with eldritch lance were awesome,l with there range shoot
2x5 scarabs, they destroyed a vindicator, knocked a land raider down to 12 armour (which a tesla then destroyed, and then just tired up marines, so overall these guys easily made their points back, just awesome might field 20 next week!
Pretorions, well not worth 200 points, but they held well in a close combat, but only having 1 attack slowed them down, but they did their job I guess, I like them!

Cons-
Imotekh was useless, never killed anything by hand or lightning and night fighting only hindered me, only use I see for this guy is against Guard or Tau, but I am looking for a all comers list, so nope not good enough and defo not worth his points!

About it
I also had 40 warriors and 10 immortals in my list running around shooting stuff, and had 3 H.destroyers which blow up a vindicator except from that nothing else, but they are still a good method of anti tank!

So overall easy win, and a few changes to the list for next week!

Necrons and GW

So going into a GW store is getting worse? not only I have been asked if I needed paint and Glue FOR my White drawf , I was also talked to like a dumass... I went in looking and Necrons and then he starts going through all the rules of the models.. (new models and old models), I said to him I already know, and he was like, yes but did you know this and that and so on! I swear they think I just buy them and leave them in the box and Havnt got a clue what I am doing.... grrr I am always getting annoyed with the service in GW places, you cant always look around without one of them over your shoulder! Friendly yes, but in store stalker no.....

Necron Review- Imotekh The Stormlord

So yer my first review of the new codex and its on our big leader Imotekh!

Well he is 225 points to start with and so you except much! and so he will also need protection so I wouldn't ever spend extra points on the command barge!

Statline-
Average, nothing stands out here really! Just a normal Necron Over Lord with 2+ save! So already I would so not worth his points! But lets look at his war gear amd special rules!

War Gear-

BloodSwarm nanoscarabs-
Unique ability to Imotekh, it basically helps your flayed ones deep strike near a infantry unit which you have chosen at the beginning of the game, great if you like flayed ones, not so great if you dont, I will let you make up your own mind on this ability, but I think it is pointless.

Gaunlet of fire-
Why the hell has Imotekh got this? yes he will almost always hit and wound with it, but no power weapon? surly a 225 point character shoud ignore armour saves? well he doesn't! So err that is a big put off with me, but lucky he is a good support character! (pricey tho)

Phase Shifter-
No ifs, No buts! LOVE IT! 3+ invulnerable, great no problem here, and yep Imotekh should have it at his points csost!

Phylactery-
meh, average at best wargear, only good if reanimation protocols work!

Sempiternal Weave-
This is what gives him is 2+ armour save, so yep good wargear!

Staff of the destroyer-
Right a one use only shooting attack.. Which I love! 2D6 from Imotekh into any direction and you could have a lot of enemies (and maybe allies aswell)

So wargear is a big meh, some good, some average, still not worth his points cost! BUT Special rules is where the fun is!

Special Rules-
I will not cover Independent character, Phaeron, Reanimation protocols and ever-living as they are standard things

Humiliating defeat-
So if he kills a character, he make sit easier to win combat! Meh its ok, but with no power weapon of a kind, he has to kill someone first!

Hyperlogical Strategy-
Awesome, except against Orks, and useless if you are going first anyway! Just a better seize the initiative roll!

Lord of the Storm-
Right this is where Imotekh becomes the STORMlord, so basically he makes the game night fight(in till you roll a bad number)
and while it is night fight he can try and hurt stuff with d6 str 8 hits on any unit the storm hits (it needs a 6 to hit, but every enemy unit has to roll mwahahaha) so awesome, but unreliable!

Overall-
Not worth his points, no power weapon and only 1 main special rule, maybe is he was 35-45 points cheaper, but he is average at best, there are better special character in the book for less!
Bit disappointed as he is meant to be our "big guy"

O well, next up is Nemesor Zahndrekh (when I get a round to it)


First Game with Necrons!

Against space marines!

Well it was a draw- he had 1 man on a objective which drew him the game, this one man took hits from a monolith and immortals 2 turns running!

But yer, so Necrons..

Good things-
Reanimation was annoying for other player
Tesla guns can cause so many wounds
Immortals are a good troop choice
Mindshakle scarabs are awesome

Cons-
Monolith did bugger all, just moved forward every turn and nothing got within 12 of it, it just kept blasting everything
My overlord couldnt hit a brick wall, in total 9 attacks over 3 turns and only 1 hit, But that is just my dice rolling lol
Destroyer lord did naf all

Maybes-
Destroyers didn't really do much, except be annoying, 200 points for 5 is a bit hefty
Heavy Destroyers didn't do much either, but are a main type of anti tank.

Overall-
So lack of anti tank hurt me, I am going to use a doomsday barge (or 2) next week, and try some other options, but I still feel we dont handle tanks overally well, and yer close combat is even worse for us now our lords are I2, but whip coils on wraiths is very handy!

Necron Codex

So it finally arrived! woooo

With my first game using it Thursday, I am already studying it!

I will also start reviewing each unit in the codex after that game at some point!
