X-Wing Vassal Tournament Finals

So I have not posted for a bit (Sorry!!)

But here is a good video to watch if you are into the x-wing game, its the Vassal final.

For those who dont know what Vassal is, its a way of playing games online, using downloads which are made normally by the fan base of the game, but... for the final they met up and played in person.

X-wing, wave 1 restock and a video :)

So I have 2 more y-wings and tie advanced arrive today thanks to the restock in the UK, so I now have 3 of each :)

Right and now a video to do with the x-wing miniature game, of course I did not make this video, it is made by x-wing strategy tips, the video is giving advice on how to use Darth Vader in the game, his ships is the Tie Advanced :)

X-wing mk results

So after a fun day gaming and meeting loads of friendly people I have the results which I will post in the second!

But to some it up. I did a lot better then I thought, I finished 6th place which is so much better then I ever thought, so here is a quick run down

So first of all my list

Garven dreis
Dutch vander, ion cannon turret
Blue squadron pilot, fire control system
Blue squadron pilot

Game 1-

Well so was drawn against Keith... The UK number 1.. So errr yer not good

His list was 4 green pilots all with ptl and 3 had concussion missiles

Game started really well, and it was a close game all the way through intill the last few turns where he scraped a win!
So game lost

Game 2

Well against a guy called Ryan, I have been talking to him on Fb, so good to finally meet him in person

His list was
Tie bomber with a concussion missile
Two basic tie fighters
Howlrunner
Back stapler
Mauler mitheal

Good game, but he quickly took out ship by ship, my last blue pilot almost turned the game around, but couldn't manage it, so another lose for me

Lunch time! So two games two loses, not doing well, o well all good fun tho

Game 3

Game against Scott he used

Ten numb, autoblaster, swarm tactics
Blue pilot, hlc
Biggs, r2d2 and shield upgrade

Well this game was over quickish, he had terrible dice roll , meaning I was about to take out ship by ship, including ion cannon Biggs onto a astroid to finish him off, yay win :)

Game 4

Against another luke , he used
Turf, vet instinct
Fell, ptl
Bona fett, engine upgrade, vet instincts

Wow he flyed well, and took a early lead, but got lucky and got rid of both of turf and fell! It came down to dutch vs boba, and I just won thanks to a single dice roll
Yay second win

Game 5
Against stewart
He used
Howlrunner, squad tactics
Jonus
Gammer pilot, assault missile, cluster missile and seismic bombs
Gammer pilot, assault missile, cluster missile and seismic bombs

This game went very well for me, near enough taking out a bomber each turn and ion cannoning howl, then move in for kill and same for jonus, both the gammers didn't get their bombs off and 1 didn't get its cluster off, I only lost garven.
Third win

So overall 3 solid wins and 2 loses, I enjoyed my lists and with dutch and garven handing out target locks and focus it meant I got more often then not, really good games tho,   and I reckon dutch is one of my favorite pilots now, he was my pilot of the tournament :)

X-wing lists

So after losing with my Imperials, I have gone back to playing rebels (intill my 3rd and 4th bomber arrive)
So here is a few more lists, I fancy giving a try-

100 points on the dot, and I wanted to use all four of my x-wings

Next list, is also 100 of the dot, and has some heavy firepower with a couple of Hwks, cos why not? lol

So yer just a couple of random fleets :)

X-wing report.... we killed vader!

So I tried out a list yesterday it was something like this-

1 Shuttle, advanced sensors, Vader, Engine upgrade, Gunner
5 Ties

I played against

Chewbacca
2 red pilots, 1 had R2-D2 and a shield upgrade!

So the game started with my flying two formations, a unit of 2 ties and the shuttle and a unit of 3 ties, while he flow the falcon one side of the map and the two x-wings the other.

First turn, the shooting was the 2-xwings at 1 tie, at range 3 killing it off, and chewbacca missing the shuttle at range 3, and the shuttle knocking off 2 shields of the x-wing and then using vader to give it a crit, which was direct hit! not bad

Then everything went wrong, he one shot two ties, one with each x-wing, and then the falcon put 4 damage on the shuttle (everything turned up really close to each other)
My turn involved taking most of the shields of the falcon.. I couldn't get a shot on the dying x-wing

Then it got worse, the other two ties were shot out by the x-wings, and so my shuttle shot the only thing it could.. the R2-D2 x-wing.. at range 1 , and done 4 damage! 3 shields and 1 hull gone, I risked another vader crit, and it was engine damage.. dam a direct hit would of been nice!

The next turn was bit slow, shuttle and the two x-wings couldn't shoot, and the falcon shot at range 3 doing nothing...

And then it was over, the shuttle using advanced sensors, engine upgrade etc, turned as much as it could around, but 2 x-wings and a falcon who all shoot first, all had shoots, so the falcon at range 3 missed (again) but the x-wings were able to finish the shuttle off

So a lose for me, and I am still no closer to choosing a list to take to MK with me, I have been trying to fly Imperials, but I might just go back to rebels (I seem to do better)

My next list I want to try is-

3 x rookie Pilots
1 Wedge, R2-D2+Shield upgrade
That is 100 on the dot, and I do like my x-wings, so maybe time to use all 4!

x-wing fleet (with pictures)

Happy New Year everyone :)

I thought I would post a few pics up of my current x-wing fleet, for the game x-wing miniatures. I am currently very much into this game, I have a tournament in Milton Keynes in a couple of weeks for this game tho, so I am looking forward to that, also hopefully my local shop will do a little January tournament and so I get at least a few games in this month :)

So anyway..onto the pictures of my current collection, I am sorry for the poor pictures its because my Ipod's camera isn't brilliant, and its the only camera I have nearby currently.
